Transforming tiny vinyl grooves into a huge musical experience as the PPA-1 does, requires a sophisticated attention to detail. We did our utmost to bring forward such attention, drawing from all of our experience designing circuits, but we also consulted some of the brightest minds within analog design outside of our company to achieve this absolutely magnificent phono stage. It features a hybrid of discrete and IC based amplifier circuits, including a newly developed discrete push pull FET based balanced output stage.

Our Reference in Vinyl Playback
Transforming tiny vinyl grooves into a huge musical experience as the PPA-1 does, requires a sophisticated attention to detail. We did our utmost to bring forward such attention, drawing from all of our experience designing circuits, but we also consulted some of the brightest minds within analog design outside of our company to achieve this absolutely magnificent phono stage. It features a hybrid of discrete and IC based amplifier circuits, including a newly developed discrete push pull FET based balanced output stage.
Current Mode Moving Coil Input Stage
Consuming and amplifying the natural resource of an MC cartridge, the current, offers not only the automatically best load for each model of cartridge, but also ensures noise level and oscillation are at an absolute minimum.
MM Capacitive Load Setting
Load of the MM input is 47kOhm and the capacitive load can be adjusted between 100pf and 790pf via the knob at the front or the remote control.
Gain Control
Standard gain for MM inputs is 40dB and MC it is 60dB, depending on cartridge impedance. A further gain control of a healthy +15dB is available for those low output cartridges that never seem to follow any reasonable output standards.
Two Inputs with Memorized Settings
The PPA-1 features two fully configurable inputs, with all settings automatically saved for each input. You can connect two of your favorite turntables, or a turntable with two arms, without having to compromise your selection of cartridge type or readjust settings every time you change from one to another.
Dedicated Headphone Amplifier
Enjoy the intimacy of the vinyl grooves directly in a pair of quality headphones via the front mounted 6.3mm jack. A separate discreetly built headphone amplifier with analog volume control will ensure top notch performance, while the line level outputs automatically deactivate.
Bespoke Cover
As standard we offer top covers in high gloss black, white and real walnut veneer to match the finish of our loudspeakers. But what if you prefer to have your PPA-1 match another brand of speakers or a piece of furniture or the color of your Lamborghini? Gato Audio offer to make bespoke top covers for you. We can paint them in virtually any color.
